Oil is not the enemy

Oil is not the enemy

I saw a trailer for movie Syriana and yelled at the TV again.  Bad behavior, I know.  I am sure the book See No Evil is better.   It has to be from what I saw.

I only recall two quotes.   Something like
“We are running out of oil.”  “90% of what is left is in the Middle East”
Both lies.
People spent millions making this thing.  All they have to sell it is lies?

I saw a review of this film on Ebert and Roeper. Roeper called it the best film he has seen all year or something like that. If I understood their commentary correctly, they both parroted the idea that we are "obviously" running out of oil. It made me sick. Perhaps it is a well made movie, but that doesn't excuse ignorance on the part of the filmmakers or the reviewers.

  2. This is just like global warming hoax. If everyone says it long enough than it must be true despite all evidence to the contrary.

We are not running out of oil. I read an article recently stating we have 100 years worth (at current world consumption) in Colorado alone.

The world is not flat even though same claimed it was despite the evidence presented to them. Prideful people wanted the sun to revolve around the earth but observation proves otherwise. Any one who studies these things can figure it out. (Just don't proclaim these heresies in government schools that wish to protect their doctrine) There is no proof that oil is scarce. There are reasons a gallon of gas is cheaper than a gallon of milk.

I watched an extended preview online of the silly movie. In defense of the author or the screenplay, it is possible that the chicken little statements "We won't be able to heat our homes." "90% of what is left is in the middle east" and "gas is $20 a gallon" may have been hypothetical statements meaning if no action was taken THEN things would get bad. Maybe that is what is meant. In that case the advertising is still deceptive and silly.
Looks like another anti-capitalist movie produced by marxists. Doesn't it pain them to make money on these movies? Ah, the price of progress
